Is A Mini Inverter Arc Welder For Under 50 €£$ Any Good?
Driveway Dudes bought this mini inverter arc/stick welder from a well known Chinese website for €39 delivered to the door. It comes with connectors only. You have to supply your own plug, cables, mask/goggles and rods at an additional cost (roughly €20)
A complete inverter welder and accessories pack would normally cost more that €120 so this purchase has a potential saving of about €60.
This type of inverter arc welder can be used in your home domestic supply socket unlike some of the older type transformer arc welders.
Paul unboxed and set it up to test if it was actually any good. He used a previously used 13A 3 pin plug, repurposed jumper cables for the positive and ground. The goggles and rods were purchased for about €10 so the total outlay was €49.
Watch the video and you can see how he set it up and tests it.
In conclusion: It is a very basic diy inverter arc/stick welder. The display for current may not be very accurate but can be used more as a guide. Overall, it does indeed work and weld. How good it will weld would be up to the user and his/her experience but as a diy and budget priced product it is useable.
