Did the King of the Hill Revival RUIN Connie's character?

I’ve seen a few people say Connie’s character was ruined in the King of the Hill revival. This is in reference to her open relationship with Chane. I have to disagree. I think this is a very logical thing for her character. In the past seasons we saw Kahn basically force his daughter to be successful in school and have prestigious hobbies like violin. In the revival she is still trying to keep her parents happy, but she is also not sure what to do with herself. She’s dating Khan because her parents want her too, but they aren’t monogamous. She's in engineering school but she doesn’t really know what she wants to do. It’s all typical for a gifted child that was forced to succeed early. One taste of freedom and she is directionless, because everything she did was for her parents. This is why Bobby is the perfect match for her. He’s not in school, he is running a very specific niche restaurant because he knew that was what he wanted. It’s really nice to see them reconnect and I’m excited to see what their new relationship brings!
