CHANGER Project Training #1 — Electronic Informed Consent in Research

This online training session, organised within the framework of the CHANGER Project, explored the ethical, legal, and practical dimensions of electronic informed consent (eConsent) in research.

The training brought together researchers, ethics experts, and members of Research Ethics Committees to discuss how digital technologies are reshaping informed consent procedures and what this means for participant autonomy, transparency, accessibility, and data protection in contemporary research environments.

Topics addressed during the session included:
• Principles and challenges of electronic informed consent
• Ethical and legal considerations in digital research environments
• Practical implementation of eConsent procedures
• Emerging technologies and participant engagement
• Case studies and discussion points for ethics review practices

The session is part of CHANGER’s training activities aimed at strengthening ethics review capacity and supporting ethics-by-design approaches in research and innovation.
