How To Test The CYA Level In Your Swimming Pool

The more CYA you have in your pool the less chlorine that will burn off or evaporate during the day.

You probably want your CYA to be at around 50 PPM.

You need a small tube with a black dot on the bottom, Cyanuric Acid Reagent and a CYA tube.

Fill the CYA tube to 7 ml of pool water and add the reagent to make it a total of 14 ml.

Shake and mix for 30 seconds.

Next squirt the mix into the small tube with the black dot on the bottom. Do this slowly and keep looking from the top of the tube thru to the bottom. Once you can no longer see the black dot, the number on the side of the tube is your current CYA level.
