Dodging The Column - 1952 by British Transport Films. Hauling a 130ft distillation column 500 miles from Greenwich to the Forth Chemical Works at Grangemouth long before the introduction of motorways and by-passes using 2 chain drive Scammell`s and solid tyred bogies.
Some dodgy health & safety issues by todays standards - like crawling under moving trailers and hands infront of moving wheels!
Very nostalgic road and town/city scenes & commentary.
