Here's what to look for when choosing a cash back card.

The cash back rate is usually the most important factor. Look for a card that aligns with your spending habits so you can earn more.

Earning cash back is great, but look into the payout dates. Some cards only pay you once a year, while others allow you to cash out whenever you want.

Fees should also be factored in. Paying an annual fee is worth it if the rewards you earn are worth more than what you're paying. Plus, cash back cards with a yearly fee often come with some great perks.

Sign-up bonuses can be a dealbreaker. I have seen offers offering as much as 10% cash back in the first three months, up to $300. That is a fantastic offer.

Two of my favourite cash-back cards are the Rogers World Elite Mastercard and the American Express Simply Cash Preferred Card because they offer excellent earning rates.
