Hero firefighters rescue baby deer from blazing bush fire!

On Saturday, 30th May, we were alerted to the tragic news that Thursley Common had been engulfed in flames. The fire had devastating effects, turning over 150 hectares of land to ash, in just a few hours, decimating all wildlife in its path.

This deer fawn had a lucky escape, when it was discovered by the Surrey Fire and Rescue team, who were tackling the blaze. Having been found hiding under a burnt-out tree for safety, this youngster was rushed to the centre for urgent medical attention.
