Swarajya Conversations Budget 2021: Dr Charan Singh On What The First Budget After Covid Needs To Be

Dr Charan Singh, Chief Executive of Egrow Foundation discusses expectations from Budget 2021 with Tushar Gupta in Swarajya Conversations. The Union Budget for 2021-22 is scheduled to be presented in Parliament on February 1, 2021.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promised a "never before" like Union Budget as the government looks to steer the pandemic-battered economy and push growth. Singh believes this can be a unique budget owing the the Covid pandemic.

He says that India has demographic dividend, economic recovery can be achieved with growth oriented and employment oriented budget which brings capital and labour together. Budget is an instrument of fiscal policy, he says.
