Turkey: Hundreds Gather To Rally Against Istanbul Mayor's Arrest | N18G

Hundreds of opposition supporters rallied in Istanbul on April 9 to protest the arrest of ousted Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and other key figures from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP). CHP leader Ozgur Ozel, who led the protest, vowed weekly demonstrations across Turkey until justice is served. He also slammed President Erdogan’s government, comparing it to military junta rule, after a state-appointed trustee replaced Sisli district’s mayor, Resul Emrah Sahan.
