Universal Healthcare is Pro-Business | Andrew Yang

Andrew Yang on CNBC:

"Health care is a massive burden on companies that are essentially killed before they get started, because there are a lot of talented workers out there that might start a company if they didn't have to provide health care to their families through their employers. It's a tax on employers from actually hiring people.
So you have to get health care off of companies, and then you have to try and lower the tax."

"You're talking universal healthcare?"

"Sure. I mean, as long as long as private companies are paying for it, it's terrible for business formation, for job portability, which is a good thing, and for actually hiring."

"It's just that that doesn't get at the increasing cost we've seen with health care all along."

"Well, I'd suggest it would, because what happens is a lot of the device manufacturers and the the health insurance companies are public companies. They have to show growth. So how are they going to show growth? They're generally going to jack up their prices. And so we. So what happens is companies around the country, like mine end up paying more and more to help the church over time, while outcomes aren't really going up in the same direction."
