How to talk with Dog Breeders. When searching for a puppy to buy, what is okay to ask breeders??

So, you want to buy a puppy. What do you do next? What do you say to breeders? What do you ask? I walk through the things you should do before you call/email a breeder, like learning how to spell the breed you are looking for...Bernese Mountain Dog (not Bermese, Bernaise, Bernie). Yes, it is important to us! Know a little about the breed and if it is a good match for your lifestyle (house dog, part of the family, don't mind hair, have the time for training, good with a big dog).
To find a responsible breeder, check out my video on "How to find a responsible breeder."
Know that most responsible breeders are hobby breeders, which means we don't have puppies available all the time. And when we do breed a litter, we have people who we have been talking to for awhile and have gotten to know them. You have to get into that funnel with a couple breeders (yes, let them know you are talking to other breeders, it's okay) so when they have a litter, they know they want to place a puppy with you.
Ask questions! You are spending a lot of money for a puppy who should come from well bred, health certified (verify in Bernergarde.org) good tempered parents! Why spend that much money for a breeder who isn't doing these things????
You should hold breeders accountable! It is a buyer beware world out there. Trust me, it is in you and your future puppy's best interest! Please feel free to ask questions! Thank you for subscribing!!
