U.S. Gulf Coast Petrochemical Project Update - March 2017
Chevron Phillips Chemical started construction of a $6 billion U.S. Gulf Coast Petrochemicals Project in summer 2014.
The project consists of a 1.5 million metric tons/year (3.3 billion pounds/year) ethane cracker and two world-scale polyethylene units that will each produce 500,000 metric tons of plastic resin every year.
Our U.S. Gulf Coast project will create 400 long-term permanent jobs as well as 10,000 construction and engineering jobs. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.
