In this video, I take a deep dive into the legendary Seiko SKX009 Pepsi diver’s watch and explain why I now own the Seiko SRPD53 — also known as the Seiko 5KX.

The SKX is one of the most iconic affordable dive watches of all time — ISO 6425 certified, 200m water resistance, and powered by the trusty 7S26 automatic movement. But after Seiko discontinued the SKX in 2019, the SRPD53 stepped in as its spiritual successor. Many collectors rejected it… but is the 5KX actually better than the SKX009 in some ways?
