जेट धारा
11- 12 किलोमीटर की ऊंचाई पर टेढ़े-मेढ़े रास्ते से चलने वाली ऊपर ही वायुमंडलीय तीव्र पवन जेट धारा कहलाती है। 3 ग्रहीय जेट होती है उष्णकटिबंधीय, शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय तथा ध्रुवीय। इनके अतिरिक्त प्रादेशिक और स्थानीय जेट भी विकसित होते हैं। ऊपरी वायु संचरण कहलाने आने वाली जेट त्रिकोशिकी देशांतरीय संचरण को प्रभावित कर धरातलीय पवन को प्रभावित करती है। भारत के ऊपर उष्णकटिबंधीय जेठ की दिशा मौसम के अनुसार परिवर्तित होती है। भारत का ग्रीष्मकालीन मानसून उत्तरी पूर्वी या पूर्वी जेट द्वारा नियंत्रित होता है जबकि शीतकालीन मानसून दक्षिणी-पश्चिमी या पछुआ जेट द्वारा नियंत्रित होती है।

Jet Stream
Upper atmospheric fast wind at 11 to 12 km height following Zig Zag path is jet stream. There are 3 planetary jet: tropical, temperature and polar beside regional and local Jets also develop. Jets called upper air circulation control tri-cellular meridional circulation and thereby surface wind. The direction of tropical Jet over India is reversed seasonally. Indian summer monsoon is controlled by North easterly or easterly Jets while winter monsoon soon is a by south- westerly or westerly jets.
