Governor Makinde should focus on providing security and creating an enabling environment of peace and stability in Oyo State instead of talking about a presidential bid. If he cannot secure strong support in neighboring states such as Osun, Ogun, and Ondo, it raises questions about the basis of a national ambition. Presidential leadership requires broad appeal, political influence, and substantial support across the country. Rather than pursuing a political project that lacks the necessary momentum, he should concentrate on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the people of Oyo State, particularly in the area of security.
