From a pile of aluminium scrap to high-end designer furniture in 30 seconds

Isn't it amazing to think that a pile of aluminium scrap can transform into a piece of high-end designer furniture? That's what our customer Hem wanted to do when they chose to use our RESTORE recycled aluminium, which contains both pre-consumer and post-consumer scrap.

Pre-consumer scrap is waste from the manufacturing process that is melted, cast and then looped back into the extrusion process.

Post-consumer scrap has already lived a complete “life,” for example as a window frame, an automotive wheel, or a bike frame.

Hydro is fully transparent on the content of pre- and post-consumer scrap in Hydro RESTORE, which is delivered with an Environmental Product Declaration stating its content and carbon footprint.
