CSI St Paul’s Church, Choolai, Chennai | Restoration by Savani Heritage Conservation |

CSI St. Paul's Church located on Hunter's road in Choolai, Vepery is one of the prominent churches in Chennai. Built in 1858, it is also one of the oldest churches in the city. It is believed that, during the year 1853, Rev. John Guest and Rev. Bower together bought one acre & 82 cents of land where the church stands today. The church was opened for worship on 19th September 1858 and has since grown to a congregation of about 3,000 members.

The church is listed as a Grade II A heritage structure by the CMDA (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority). The project was aimed at bringing the church structure to its former glory. The project involved the holistic restoration of the roof structure, doors and windows, structural consolidation, improved electrical systems, and façade illumination.

We, Savani Heritage Conservation, feel extremely grateful to have been awarded the restoration works for this project and extend our heartfelt thanks to the client Diocese of Madras & CSI St. Paul's Church, and the consultant Kingsway Consultants- Architects and Engineers for this opportunity.
