Lecce is an Italian city of about 95,140 inhabitants, capital of the province of the same name in Puglia, southern Italy.

For these reasons, Lecce has received flattering nicknames such as "Baroque Florence", "Florence of the South" and "Athens of Puglia", and is considered one of the jewels of southern Italy.
