DaVinci Resolve Tutorial: How to Add Outer Glow

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a cool outer glow effect in DaVinci Resolve. Let's get started.

Step 1. Go to the Effects menu. If you don't see it, make sure Effects is enabled in the upper left of the interface.

Step 2. In the search bar, click the dropdown menu next to it and ensure "All folders" is selected. Search for "outer stroke".

Step 3. Drag the Outer Stroke effect onto your image or video on the timeline. This works best with a transparent background.

Step 4. Increase the Border Width to make the stroke larger. Then change Border Edge to Gaussian. This will create a soft glow.

Step 5. Change the color to whatever you want.

Step 6. If the glow is not large enough, click inside the Border Width value box. Instead of typing 0.1, type a larger number (e.g., 0.1 or higher) and press Enter.
