Thrift Flip // Two piece set from oversized blazer

My friend Abbie and I attempt to turn a thrifted blazer jacket into a skirt and top combo set! There's a few mini meltdowns and adventures along the way, but in the end I think the co-ord pieces turned out preeeetty cute!

This is more of a vlog style compared to my usual straight forward tutorials but essentially these are the steps:
01 - Measure the ideal length of the skirt from the jacket and add enough seam allowance (1/2 inch or 1cm is plenty)
02 - Cut along this line
03 - Take in dart points on side seam sections of the skirt
04 - Move buttons across to new section of the front overlap
05 - Clean top waistline of the skirt by sewing lining and main material good sides facing then flip back out to reveal clean seam
06 - Repeat clean seam process for the bottom of the jacket
(TIP: I cut an opening in the lining to make it easier to flip inside out and back through, then just closed it up once that was complete)
