diy skirt hikes tutorial || crochet & leather versions

i made myself some skirt hikes and wanted to share my process in case anyone else wants to make some. figured offering both leather and crochet versions would be best (more versatile and accessible to folks). i'm just showing you some very, very basic ways to make these hikes, but you can of course get creative and modify any of these styles a ton, or come up with your own!

🧵 THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

❥ Leather Version:
- cutting mat
- leather material
- paper
- pencil
- pen (or marker or chalk for marking leather)
- 2 rings, or 1 suspender clip, per hike
- ruler
- rivets (size depends - needs to fit 3x the depth of your leather material)
- rivet setter
- anvil
- hammer

❥ Crochet Version:
- worsted weight yarn
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- scissors
- thread
- sewing needle
- tapestry needle
- 2 rings, or 1 suspender clip, per hike
- 1 button per hike

📖 ABBREVIATIONS:
- sc - single crochet
- st - stitch/stitches
- ch - chain
- sc2tog - single crochet two together
