PAINT YOUR EVENT: VLOG #28 Hurstbourne Country Club Wedding Painting

I had the honor of painting a beautiful wedding at the Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville, KY. The ceremony was held outside against this amazing backdrop, after which we headed inside for the reception. The bride and groom were so sweet and relaxed – it was incredible to get to document the happiest day of their lives.

Both the outside ceremony and the inside reception were so amazing that I just had to incorporate both into my painting. The contrast between the colorful outdoors and the black, white, and gold interior was so striking that I just couldn’t resist. And there was no way that I was going to leave out the chandelier or that gorgeous cake!

Fun tidbit: a few years ago, the club asked me to paint for their 50th anniversary. The painting I did was actually hanging a few feet in front of me, which was an unusual experience. It’s always nice to paint at a place I’ve painted before.
