Face to face with a red deer stag during rutting season.
After an afternoon photographing the autumn colours and deer in Windsor Great Park at the height of rutting season, I was just getting to my exit gate when I saw a group of female (hind) red deer standing right in front of it. Oh no. Where's the stag?
As I got closer the stag appeared, walking towards the female group and the gate, blocking my exit. He stopped and starred at me. He didn't look very happy.
