AED in Action | A 3D Look Inside the Body

This 3D animation demonstrates how an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) actually works and what happens inside the body when it is used. The real-life ECG strip of a sudden cardiac arrest survivor follows along, showing what happens to the heart at the same time.

During a sudden cardiac arrest, the heart has uncoordinated electrical activity and isn’t effectively pumping any blood out. An AED will analyze the heart, provide a shock and reset the heart back to a normal rhythm. Using an AED is easy and is the person’s only chance of survival! Simply by following the voice prompts, anyone can use an AED.
