For the 400th episode of Cut The Clutter today, we have a special offering for our viewers, where ThePrint's reporters and camerapersons covering the Delhi riots join Shekhar Gupta to help viewers make sense of the complex situation.
---------------------------
For the whole period, from 1950-95 period, we have 93 deaths in Hindu-Muslim riots in Delhi, spread over at least five-year periods. That is, just 93 deaths in Hindu-Muslim riots in 70 years. That means after the conflagration of 1947, Delhi has only been prone to smaller and infrequent Hindu-Muslim riots. Not like Ahemdabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Aligarh, Meerut, but just behind Baroda, and just ahead of Calcutta. Those are the eight worst during 1950-95. Calcutta will drop out if you do only 1970-1995.
