A Muslim Cleric's Testimony Encounter With Jesus Christ

Mahmoudu Jimoh Adua Bello a formal Muslim cleric narrated the testimony of his encounter with Jesus Christ that took place in April of this year, 2019. In this testimony he said, and I quote him "I was praying, leading the people in the mosque. My uncle was present with the two elders of the mosque and then seven other mosque members. That is Ajumoni Central Mosque in Oshodi, number 51, on the way going to the market, opposite Methodist Church. I was reading the first chapter of our Quran, which is called Surah Al-Fatiha, meaning the opening chapter, or the mother of the Quran. It is called the mother of the Quran because it summarizes 6,666 verses. When I get to verse 4, all of a sudden, a light from nowhere appeared it filled the whole mosque, and it was brighter than the sun. I’ve never seen such a light, but it’s not bringing heat but brighter than the sun. It rather brings cold. I feel cold and peaceful inside, but the mosque doesn’t have any AC, it was just fans, and they’re not on. In the midst of that light, a man spoke to me, out of the light. He asked me in Arabic...Which means; he said I should come out of them. He speaks to me in Arabic; I’m the one translating it into English. But I know the reason why maybe He speaks to me in Arabic is that I understand Arabic more than even the Fulani and Hausa. I can teach the Arab man Arab, those who are Muslims, they will understand by listening to my Arabic language. And the person told me that I should come out of the Islamic religion, I should come out of them, and I say, “Ah...who are you? All I know is this.”He said no I should come out of them. This is not the right path. He wants to bring me to the faith and save my soul from condemnation. And I say, no. That is Islam. I challenge the person. I told Him, Quran chapter 2, which is al-Baqarah, meaning the chapter of the cow, verse 257 says that the only faith that is accepted by Allah in heaven is Islam Then He says that is a lie and a blaspheme. He says that He is the way, the truth, and the life. And I say, ah ...that is not possible. You claim to be “Annabi Isa”, which means Jesus. If truly you are Jesus, Jesus cannot be the way, and the truth and the life, Mohammed is the way. He says, no, that is a lie. I should listen to him. The time has come. He wants to save me and use me as a platform of glory to deliver my Muslim brothers from the darkness of Islam to the light of the Gospel..." He weighs the Quran against the Bible and weaves a beautiful and theologically profound argument about Jesus Christ being more worthy than the prophet Mohammed to intercede for us on the Day of Judgment!
Though he has spent most of his adult life studying the Quran and striving for an Islamic form of righteousness, yet he effortlessly argues from the Bible that the Savior Christians worship is indeed the One True God. He affirms the truths of scripture in his testimonial and unabashedly preaches that Jesus Christ alone is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6)
He preaches that Jesus is sinless, therefore more worthy than anyone, even Mohammed to intercede for us before the Almighty God (Romans 8:34), that through Christ all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:3). He affirms the Biblical truth that with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10) and that Christ calls him to become a platform of glory to deliver his Muslim brothers from the darkness of Islam to the light of the Gospel. (2 Corinthians 4:1-6)
He says that Jesus has the ability to heal the sick and raise the dead and opens the eyes of the blind, even take clay and mold it into the form of a dove and breathe into it and become alive there and now fly away. That means Jesus gives life; Suuratu Maryama chapter 19, and verse 38
What is perhaps most incredible in his testimony is the fact that he’s not even aware of the Biblical references to much of what he’s saying. He’s simply relaying to us what He heard the resurrected Christ speak to him - all of which is consistent with the scriptures; he makes it clear that God is three-in-one; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
My prayer for you is that this testimony would stir in you a greater love for Jesus Christ and a greater devotion to the great commission, and it would lead people who are far from God, especially Muslims into the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
