Gujarat Earthquake

A team of 15 ham radio operators was airlifted to Gujarat during the earthquake in 2001 to establish an emergency communication network. Their services during that time received appreciation not only from officials but also from the general public. Shri Kesubhai Patel, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, specifically made a phone call to Chandrababu Naidu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, to express his gratitude for sending the special ham radio team to assist the administration in providing emergency communication.
