1. Clean thoroughly the stalagmometer with nitric acid
2.mount the stalagmometer in a vertical position on any suitable stand to avoid unnatural fall of drop
3. Fill water in a dry stalagmometer up to a Level than mark A
4. Place an empty dry beaker of known weight W1 below the lower stem of the stalagmometer
5. Weight the beaker containing 20 drops of water W2
6. The difference b/w W2 and W1 gives the weight of 20 drops of water
7. From this reading, determine the weight of one drop of water (m2)
8. Repeat the same steps for sample Liquid A whose surface tension is to be determined
