Jaimini Jariwala | Latent Echoes | Indigo Art Museum

Jaimini Jariwala is a Surat-born artist trained in painting and printmaking, whose practice is grounded in the quiet act of mark-making through threads and cyanotypes. In Beneath the Dye: Revealing the Pattern (2025), she works with indigo-dyed markin cloth, selectively removing threads to uncover the hidden architecture beneath the surface. The result is a textile that holds tension between what is shown and what is withheld, where the deep blue of indigo meets the silence of deliberate absence, prompting a meditation on transformation, loss and the passage of time.

Filmed ahead of our maiden exhibition 'Latent Echoes' February 2025 at the Indigo Art Museum, this series offers a glimpse into the tangible and intangible ways artists explore indigo — as material, memory and metaphor — revealing how history lingers and resonates through contemporary art practices.
