Here's a little piece of my soul for you. Excerpts from my actual personal journal when crossing the Atlantic Ocean on Finding Avalon, via voiceover. I've never read my diary out loud to anybody, so consider yourselves welcomed into the circle of trust.

2,800 nautical miles; almost 20 days at sea. I cannot compare this experience to anything I've ever done before; nor can I find enough words to describe it.
