Here is a little tutorial on how I completely restore a straight razor using just one sharpening stone and a diamond plate to slurry it. This Jasper is an exceptionally fine and fast sharpening stone.

When lapped with a mellow diamond plate you can
Make a huge jump in refinement very fast. Unedited this video was about 20 minutes.
I also lap the backside of the stone with a coarse grit and it will also do more rugged sharpening
(1000 -500 grit range and lower depending on how fast you want it )

At best this stone can finish your edge as fine as 20-30,000 grit because it gives a wonderful mirror polish which occurs at .5 micron or finer grit.

At its most coarse it can act like a 120 or 220 grit when lapped at that level. This is because surface preparation also plays a roll in how these ultra hard stones sharpen steel.
