We drove from our apartment from Montreux and it took around 2.5 hours to reach Tasch, this is the town where you can park your car and then you can take 10 minutes train to Zermatt.

There are many hotels & hostels in Zermatt, you can pick any as per your budget, preference and don't forget to take a walk early morning to enjoy the serenity of this town. There are many things to do in this town and you should definitely must go to Glacier on top of mountain, this newly built cable way is a master piece of technology and gives you a breathtaking view of Matterhorn and glacier.

So our trip, we flew from EasyJet, a low cost airlines in europe, from Amsterdam to Basel. At basel, we hired a car and started our trip to Montreux. We first drove to Glacier 3000 but that was closed that day due to avalanche in Alps mountain, so we drove to lake geneva and spent evening at Chillon castle.
