To cache or not to cache?

Ever wondered if adding a cache is actually solving the problem… or just hiding it?

Should you add caching, or optimize the system instead?

Caching is powerful, but it also introduces:

Cache invalidation problems
Extra infrastructure complexity
Consistency issues
Additional costs
Debugging headaches

Sometimes, writing better SQL queries, improving indexing, reducing unnecessary API calls, or fixing inefficient application logic can completely remove the need for a cache layer.
