Practicing Slow Speed Maneuvers On Your Motorcycle Gives You Options

I’ve said it many times… There are several benefits we get from practicing slow speed maneuvers on our motorcycles. One of those benefits is OPTIONS. And your options are limited to your skill level.

Some of these options are emergency related, but others are just simple things… Or should I say things that SHOULD be simple. And sometimes even when your skill level has risen to the point that your options have been expanded, you may still resort to what you’re accustomed to.

When I first told Stephanie to go to the first cone, I observed where she looked. I saw that her plan was to take the long, wide route because that’s how she was accustomed to riding. Those days are behind her. This is where having a coach is advantageous. Based on what I was seeing in her riding, I told her to take the “BOSS” route, which she did and she rocked it! Now she knows that’s her option. She put the work in for that option during her Private Lessons with me! And finished it off with a smooth, controlled stop! That’s what I’m talking about!
