Historic Walking tours Quincy, FL
Step into the stories, architecture, and layered history of downtown Quincy during this guided 45 minute walking tour presented by Bwembya’s Market & Art Gallery. This guided experience takes place entirely outdoors. We’ll explore Quincy’s history and architecture from public spaces while viewing historic sites from the exterior. Along the route, participants will examine historic architecture, Black history, commerce, faith institutions, preservation efforts, and the continued evolution of the downtown district.
Tour stops include:
• Courthouse Square
• Shaw Ford Motor Company
• Old Post Office
• Arnett Chapel AME Church
• Quincy Music Theatre
• McFarlin House
• JEA Davidson House
• The Gathering
• Woodbery-Ellis Building
• Quincy State Bank Marker
The tour begins at Courthouse Square at Washington and Jefferson Streets and concludes near Capital City Bank. Participants should expect outdoor walking, uneven sidewalks, street crossings, weather exposure, traffic conditions, and periods of standing. Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and water are strongly encouraged. In the event of extreme weather tours may be rescheduled or used as credit in Bwembya's Market Gift Shop. There are no refunds.
