Interview: Dr. Ali Ertürk on the new UltraMicroscope Blaze
For more information, visit https://www.miltenyibiotec.com/blaze In this interview Dr. Ali Ertürk, Director of the Institute for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM), Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany explains how the new light sheet microscope UltraMicroscope Blaze enabled him and his team to examine and analyze samples as large as a whole cleared mouse or even large human organs such as kidney. He also points out how this new light sheet technology in combination with tissue clearing allows them to see the big picture, without losing sight of all the details. His scientific applications range from neurodegeneration and disease models such as diabetes and cancer through to drug screening.
The UltraMicroscope Blaze is the first fully automated light sheet microscope. This new microscope along with the specially developed MI Plan objective lenses allows imaging across scales, from whole transparent mice down to subcellular structures.
