Labour MP Dawn Butler accuses Metropolitan Police of racially profiling her after stop and search
Inaya Folarin Iman, founder of the Equiano Project, and vice chairman of Race on the Agenda Maurice McLeod debate Dawn Butler’s claims that she was racially profiled when she was pulled over by the police.
Ms Folarin Iman says: “She is perpetuating the assumption that any interaction is instantly one of racism…for a Member of Parliament to use her position to cement racial tensions, I find that morally reprehensible.”
Mr McLeod responds: “I find it really sad that someone would make that allegation against Dawn. Pointing out that something is wrong is not wrong in itself.”
