How to Safely Take off PPE, Selected Equipment: PAPR and Coverall
This video demonstrates the procedure described in CDC guidance for doffing (i.e., removing) personal protective equipment (PPE) for all healthcare providers entering the room of a patient hospitalized with known or suspected Ebola virus disease. It assumes the healthcare provider is using a PAPR and Coverall.
This video is intended to supplement CDC's Guidance on Personal Protective Equipment To Be Used by Healthcare Workers During Management of Patients with Ebola Virus Disease in U.S. Hospitals, Including Procedures for Putting On (Donning) and Removing (Doffing), available at http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/hcp/procedures-for-ppe.html.
This video will be updated and refined on an ongoing basis based on user feedback and best practices in managing patients with Ebola in U.S. hospitals.
