"Homecoming (Heroes' Song)" by Jordan V

This piece was written for and dedicated to American veterans. The first movement was inspired by a movie called "The Deer Hunter," specifically the scene where Mike Vronsky's coterie throws him a welcome home party. Instead of attending the soiree being held in his honor, Mike checks himself into a motel, prefering to be alone so that he can further process all the horrors he has recently experienced in his tour of Vietnam. The second movement pays tribute to those who have bravely sacrificed their lives for our country. The conclusion is about how our government/society often turns its back on veterans when they need help the most (especially those suffering from crippling PTSD.) The graphic art in the video is also mine; it is called "Long Ago Radio."
