XCOM 1000% hit, 100% crit and 90% dodge for soldiers and troopers

A showcase of a rather odd feature of the XCOM 2 hit/crit/graze roll system as of 23rd Feb 2016. This video shows ~8 minutes of play without commentary to show how soldiers and troopers with 1000% hit, 90% dodge and 100% crit behave in unexpected ways.

The results are that troopers and soldiers always crit one another, but soldiers will not crit the unmodified advent officer because he does not have enough dodge. Instead he will take regular hits. His return fire behaves normally, the 90% dodge results in almost all hits being grazes, he misses the expected shot percentage and although not displayed here, he also crits occasionally as he should. Soldier damage is shown to be penalised for having a higher hit percentage than crit percentage while hit exceeds 100%..

This can happen in regular gameplay where hit chance exceeds 100% and crit chance is lower than hit chance. Hit chance is still beneficial for bypassing cover and dodge. It may go some way to explaining the strange behaviour reported by some players of 100% chance to crit shots not resulting in critical hits, as well as why some players believed that crit took precedence over dodge.
