SnZn alloy for soldering aluminium

This isn't anything novel really. You can buy rods for soldering aluminium, these are usually ZAMAK alloy with much higher melting point from what I have seen in shops in my country.

This particular alloy tuned out to be ~47Sn51Zn1.5AgCu. Mechanical properties are similar to copper.
Same as ZAMAK this one can be used to solder aluminium, iron, copper and brass, though you may need some flux. Especially for iron.
However, since this alloy is quite far from eutectic composition, it is not well suited for parts thar will work in hot environments. Not sure if it is possible to stabilize this material without changing melting point too much. Also keep in mind the intermetallic compounds that this will make when actually mixed with target aliminium will probably increase MP of small joints.
Adding just a bit of copper to the mix you get material with properties similar to brass, melting point goes through the roof though...

So why even bother?
- Dunno
- This one is super easy to make even in kitchen
- You have good control over temp range and legging materials
- I need it now and I can't go welding supplier, because your granma would die. Instead, I had to go to supermarket to buy AA batteries. What a joke.
- Have you seen how it wets?
