Why is online gambling not taxed in SA | Jashwin Baijoo on Kaya FM

The Democratic Alliance (DA) is working on a bill that will introduce the regulation and taxation of online gambling activities. 

In an interview with KayaFM, Jashwin Baijoo (Head of Crypto Tax and Compliance) discusses how such regulation could raise serious concerns for:
- Domestic gambling platforms – whose gambling profits will become subject to corporate tax; and
- “Professional” gamblers – whose gambling returns are not a pure construct of luck, and forms part of their regular monthly income.
