HISTORY OF | History of Global Handwashing Day

Today is #globalhandwashingday, a global advocacy day dedicated to raising awareness and understanding about the importance of #handwashing.
The link between handwashing and #health was first made less than two centuries ago by Dr. Ignaz #Semmelweis in Vienna and later reaffirmed by Florence Nightingale during the Crimean War.
#GlobalHandwashingDay is an opportunity for us all to be reminded of the need to maintain proper hand hygiene practices to stop the spread of illness and infection.
