The Real-Life Dragon You Didn’t Know Exists 🐉 | Easy Science Lessons

The Asian water monitor is one of the largest lizards on Earth 🦎

Growing up to 3 meters long, this powerful reptile lives near rivers, swamps, and forests across South and Southeast Asia. It’s an excellent swimmer, using its strong tail and limbs to move effortlessly through water.

These lizards are opportunistic hunters, meaning they’ll eat almost anything—from fish and birds to small mammals and even carrion. They rely on their forked tongue to “smell” and track down prey.

Despite their adaptability, habitat loss and hunting still threaten their populations in some areas.

A true survivor of the wild—this reptile is as fascinating as it is powerful 🌿✨
