Loyal Dog Lives At The Train Station For Decades After Losing Her Best Friend There
If you look up “loyalty” in the dictionary, you might just find a picture of a dog right next to the entry. There’s a reason that they’re called man’s best friend, after all.
This fact has never been more evident than when the world discovered the legend of Hachiko the dog. This loyal pup was famous for being a fixture at a certain Tokyo train station. Every day, patrons would pass him and wonder what he was waiting for.
When you learn why he was sitting alone at the station for more than a decade, your heart will break…
Most people understand that when it comes to their temperaments, dogs are known for loyalty above much else. This presumption has never been more evident than in the harrowing story of the resilient Japanese Akita inu named Hachiko.
As the story goes, in Tokyo during the 1920s, Hachiko would walk to Tokyo’s Shibuya train station each day with his owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, to see him off to work. When he left, the loyal dog would sit there patiently and wait for his owner to return.
