The Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) Exit Examination, administered by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), was initially scheduled for October 2024. This examination serves as a prerequisite for D.Pharm graduates to register as pharmacists in India. However, in December 2024, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) announced that the exam would be deferred indefinitely. Consequently, the PCI permitted the 2022-2023 D.Pharm batch to register and obtain licenses without this examination. ​
As of March 2025, there have been no further updates regarding the rescheduling of the D.Pharm Exit Examination. Students are advised to regularly check the official websites of NBEMS and PCI for the latest information.​
