Mocănița HUȚULCA (Moldovița, Bucovina, Romania)

Calea ferata cu ecartament îngust de la Moldovița a fost construită de un proprietar de gater din Munchen, Louis Ortieb, și dată în folosință în anul 1888 pentru transport de masă lemnoasă de la pădure la gater.
În anul 1909 linia a fost preluată de la fondul bisericesc care a schimbat ecartamentul liniei de la 800 de milimetri la ecartament standardizat 760 de milimetri. Inițial, traseul mocăniței avea 23,9 de kilometri, de la Moldovița la Roșoșa, însă în decursul anilor s-au mai construit o mulțime de variante și tot sistemul a ajuns în anul 1987 cu înființarea porțiunii Râșcovei – Râșca dreaptă + Arsuri la o lungime de 73 de kilometri.
Linia de la Moldovița a fost folosită până în anul 2001 pentru transport de masă lemnoasă. Începând cu iulie 2005, linia este administrată de Asociația pentru păstrarea liniilor înguste din România, administrată de austriacul Georg Hocevar, cunoscut ca salvator al mai multor linii cu ecartament îngust din România. În prezent, linia are 10,5 kilometri.

The route of Hutulca begins in Moldovita village (in Bukovina region, Romania) and it continues near the river with the same name. Along the entire route (10.5 Km) you will be able to admire the picturesque landscape of Bukovina, dominated by gentle hills, haystacks collected from the large fields and old settlements built using local architectural model.
The "mocanita" (narrow railways train) Hutulca is today a charming tourist attraction of the whole region and brings joy to both those passionate about steam locomotives, as well as those who want to relax admiring the beauty of wild nature.

Tourists arriving in this area of Bukovina have the opportunity to visit other famous attractions in Moldovita, such as Moldovita Monastery or the Museum of Painted Eggs – Lucia Condrea.
Moldoviţa Monastery is a beautiful place of worship enrolled in UNESCO World Heritage List since 1993. Access to this area is done very easily, Moldovita being located at a distance of about 30 km from the city of Campulung Moldovenesc and about 70 km from Suceava.
