Kayaks have built in stabilities but that said there may be situations where you would like the comfort of a greater secondary stability when performing certain tasks on your kayak such as Angling or perhaps doing some nice Wildlife photography - Kayak stabilisers need to be easy to set up and not get in the way when you want to paddle and yet do the job when you need them to keep you on board ! This video shows how we set up a simple outrigger system using a paddle, paddle floats and Railblaza G-holds - Most paddlers will already carry a back up split paddle and a paddle float as part of their safety kit so for a relatively small additional outlay this is a nice stabiliser option for the paddler who perhaps like me, likes to keep things simple !
