How to Sync YOUR SUNO STEMS in YOUR DAW
To learn music theory, visit http://phillc.net
Learn how to sync your stems fast in Mixcraft with these easy tips for perfect alignment. More music at www.phill-c.com
In Mixcraft:
Go to File - Preferences - Project and enable options to change project tempo/key to match the first sound.
Import the drum stem first for best tempo detection.
Accept the detected BPM (e.g., 129 BPM), then import all other stems, aligning them to the left and declining further tempo changes.
- Using Tunebat.com (or similar sites):
- Upload the drum stem to detect BPM and key.
- Enter that BPM in your DAW so all stems lock in sync.
- Variations in readings may occur—test with multiple stems if needed.
Manual Methods:
- Use your ear and tap tempo features.
- Visually inspect the waveform to align kicks with the beat grid.
- Manually adjust sections, disable snap-to-grid for precise movement, and split/move clips if the track has tempo changes or breaks.
Key Tips:
- Drums provide the most reliable BPM reading.
- Many songs aren’t at a fixed tempo—manual fine-tuning may be needed.
- Acidizing (locking everything to one tempo) can fail if the song changes speed.
