WREXHAM AFC STADIUM NEWS - CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY

Wrexham AFC Kop Stand construction continues to move forward and the new year is shaping up to be a huge one for the club. In this update we look at the latest progress at Stok Cae Ras, from piling works and heavy machinery on site to the long term vision behind the new Kop Stand under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

With the Soilmec piling rig hard at work laying the foundations, this project is about far more than steel and concrete. The return of the Wrexham Kop will restore Wrexham AFC to a full four sided stadium and bring back up to five thousand five hundred supporters, or potentially seven thousand five hundred if final planning conditions are met. That atmosphere is something Ryan Reynolds has spoken about repeatedly, describing the missing Kop as the missing fourth wall.

We also discuss the wider planning picture, including the Wrexham Council application for increased capacity, the role of phosphates, matchday parking concerns and comments from local councillors. Alongside this, the Wrexham Gateway project is edging closer to approval, with contracts and businesses being lined up behind the scenes as commercial sensitivity limits what can currently be shared.

This channel continues to document every stage of the Kop Stand build, from soil stabilisation and piling to cranes, steelwork and eventually the rise of the stand itself.
